Sandi's Ocean

Hello everyone!

I'd like to invite you to my new tribe, Sandi's Ocean. This is a tribe for all other things I make besides bindis. But I will probably post reminders/updates there about new batches being posted on the HiBeam tribe. This is a "catch all" tribe, of sorts, to let you know about other things I'm working on or selling at the moment.

At the moment, I'm working on getting a new line of necklaces together. It is mostly and mainly a Service that I am offering for those who have trinkets and beads that have been hidden away for one of those rainy days for you to do something with. Well, I'm the rainy day. Ha ha! I've blogged about it, so you might get a better idea here: people.tribe.net/s-a-n-d-i...a5f3149c5c I'll outline the guidelines for that in the new tribe and post photos of those who have experienced this with me.

Last year, I knitted Shortie Mitts (fingerless, wrist-length mittens) as holiday gifts for my friends. They loved them and I'm thinking about making more, but I think it will be the same deal as the bindis. Custom orders are hard for me, since I won't have all colors you might want. But I have a lot and in many varieties. So, you'll have to see what I come up with!

Hey Everyone.

(You can forward to the recap at the bottom of this post if you don’t like reading. Haha)

We are so excited to be apart of our favorite event Tribal fest! This will be our 3rd year in a row, and our line just keeps growing. Not to mention we’ve been working non stop for months to have as many beautiful, and high quality pieces as possible you guys along with brand new items never seen before.

So for those of you who are interested in what’s new and goin on with us Here’s some 411 for ya’ll..

This year we have chosen to focus our energy on individuality.
Almost Every Creation In Our Booth Is A ONE OF A KIND!

I’m talking every Performance Halter, Bustle, Bra, Skirt, Dress, Vest, Head Piece, Arm Warmer, Cuff, Necklace, Belt, Jacket, Versatile, Scarf, and Full Costume is all hand made, embellished, and created just once! I’ve done this to ensure you will have an item that is truly yours. .. And no one else’s… ;)
So… just saying … if you REALLY love it, don’t let someone else take off with it as it will never be made again..

Like always…We will be planted in our same spot on the front lawn under the tree WED- SUN… and for those of you who are just attending the weekend show don’t fret.. I’m saving stock for you too! Yes I’m slowly releasing our goodies, so if you came Wednesday morning and thought you saw it all.. Mmm hmm…Think again..

Also this year I will be carrying a huge selection of Jewelry and Hair accessories from my dear friend Marcy.. And Grey Cat. You have to see these guy’s work…I adore both of these artists and sure you will too.

And last but not least… I’m a dork so be prepared! If you buy something from my booth you have to pose for a picture Kissing It Good bye! I post all these lovely photos on myspace album for your viewing enjoyment.

Camaraderie

I've been noticing a common theme regarding us coming together as a collective in support rather than cattiness. I don't think this is a new concept in the design/art world, but maybe in the bellydance world? This group has come together out of mutual respect for each other's dedication towards originality, quality and style. We are all unique in our styles, but yet complimentary. How many times have you seen your favorite dancer (including yourself) wear a combination of our designs all in one outfit?

We've also come together in support for the small businesswoman trying to make a living doing what we love. Some of us have other jobs to help support ourselves, but its a tough gig to try to make it out here (especially in the Bay Area) in California in such a specialized profession as ours. I hope you continue to appreciate our dedication to bringing you the best possible costuming, clothing, & jewels that you can find in our niche in the world.

So, tell us your stories. How do you or how can you bring more camaraderie and support to your your lives? Any cool collaborations going on?
