Has anyone here ever ordered from bellydanceprops.com? If so, what was your experience like?
I'm looking at their swords, I want a scary, fierce looking sword. I have the one from moondancebellydance that everyone has, but it just looks chunky and not sharp. I'd like on that looks a little more real, and I think that these do. Should I order from bellydanceprops.com or does anyone have any other product recomendations?
Thanks!

Re: need a recomendation for swords
Fri, January 22, 2010 - 12:44 PMI ordered from Bellydanceprops last year. They were the least expensive supplier I found and their products looked the same as others at twice the price. The sale was fine, with no trouble.
I ordered right before a holiday, but the items came in about a week.
The tracking # she gave only said that they had been contacted to pick it up, never where it was in the system, but the items came anyway.
I purchased the Balady Scimitar and have been very pleased with it. I was going to purchase the Moorish scimitar, but it was out of stock. I also purchased the DVD by princess Farhana, Bellydance & Balance and it was pretty good. She has good information about using and caring for your props.
The sword is very good quality, rather heavy (but I've gotten used to that) and very solid. I like that it is balanced for dancing without fooling about with the guard, etc. After spending a lot of time when I was younger doing fencing, I have a gut-level dislike of turning the guard around so the sword will balance for dancing--it just doesn't look right.
I hope you've been able to find something that works!
