&lt;br/&gt;The following article appeared in Workers Hammer No. 210 (Spring 2010), newspaper of our comrades of the Spartacist League/Britain.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;We print below a 13 March letter sent to the Home Office by the Partisan Defence Committee, a class-struggle, legal and social defence organisation associated with the Spartacist League. The letter protests the conviction and jailing of youth, mainly Muslims, who took part in London protests against Israel’s war on Gaza a little over a year ago. There will likely be more such sentences as more cases come before the courts.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Comrades of the Spartacist League/Britain and other International Communist League (ICL) sections internationally participated in protests while the Zionist mass murder machine pounded the Gaza ghetto in air assaults followed by a devastating ground invasion, terrorising and killing Palestinian men, women and children. The ICL called for the working class internationally to stand for military defence of Hamas without giving that reactionary Islamic fundamentalist outfit one iota of political support. We demanded: Defend the Palestinian people! All Zionist troops and settlers out of the West Bank and East Jerusalem!
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Unlike the Zionists and indeed the anti-Semitic Islamic fundamentalists, we do not equate the Zionist state with the Hebrew-speaking people, who have the right to self-determination as well as the Palestinian people. The Israeli/Palestinian conflict is one of interpenetrated peoples: two peoples laying claim to the same piece of land. Under capitalism, the exercise of national self-determination by one will necessarily be at the expense of the other. As long as the national principle prevails, the oppression of the Palestinians, who are the weaker side, can only worsen. As Marxists we seek to bring the class question to the fore, insisting on the need for proletarian revolutionary parties to fight for workers revolutions to shatter the Zionist state from within and to sweep away the mullahs, colonels, sheikhs and all the other capitalist rulers. Defence of those subjugated by the imperialists around the globe demands the pursuit of class struggle in Britain, the U.S. and other imperialist centres, pointing towards a proletarian struggle for power.

&lt;br/&gt;We protest the outrageous convictions and sentences meted out to youth arrested during the December 2008-January 2009 London protests against Israel’s slaughter in Gaza. Reportedly of 119 arrested, some 26 have so far been sentenced and 22 sent to jail for terms ranging from eight months to two-and-a-half years, for such trivial acts as throwing placards. The arrests followed months of surveillance by the police, who descended on homes like stormtroopers in dawn raids during which family members were handcuffed in separate rooms.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;These youth, almost all Muslims and many under 20 years old, were expressing justified rage at the bloodbath carried out by the Zionists in Gaza. Israel’s war left 1,400 Palestinians dead and thousands injured, and reduced most of Gaza—already essentially a concentration camp surrounded by an electrified fence, a sealed border with Egypt, and the Mediterranean Sea—to ash and rubble. The jailings for protesting this atrocity underline British imperialism’s solidarity with the Zionist butchers.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Judge John Denniss, in handing down the sentences at Isleworth Crown Court in Middlesex, has stated his intent to send a message of “deterrence.” The message, broadcast loud and clear in the convictions and sentences, is one of naked state racism otherwise known as the government’s “war on terror,” which is an anti-Muslim witch hunt. In fact the judge reportedly relied on the precedent of the draconian sentences handed out to young Asians jailed for defending their communities from rampaging fascists in Bradford in 2001. Then too such “lessons” were delivered in the form of six-year prison terms for throwing stones. The fruit of this poison relentlessly dished up by the Blair and Brown Labour governments is the growth of the fascist BNP and their spin-offs, the English Defence League, who parade their anti-Muslim filth.

&lt;br/&gt;We demand: Free the jailed protesters now! Drop all the charges!

&lt;br/&gt;Also looking for a recommendation on a Tattoo Artist near Leicester Sq. And yes, I've checked yell.co.uk, but that isn't a recommendation, it's just a statement that they are in business. 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Here are some thoughts, for a starter. This is just a quick list, additional suggestions are appreciated and requested.

&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;In the heated debate tribe I and a tribe of mostly Americans have been discussing proposed changes to our health care system. Some of us would prefer a European or Canadian model of giving medical care, others of us fear a system like that as a total disaster. 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;My hope is that some of the people in this tribe are familiar with the system in Europe, and will join the discussion in this tribe and add real life experiences. I am willing to change my opinions more on the word of a European's or Canadian's experience with their system of health care than to listen to pundits on both sides of the issue here idealize the socialized medicine in these places or make them out to seem like monstrosities.

&lt;br/&gt;Best place - Kensington - because the area is stunning! The place has some amazing buildings, and I secretly wish I could afford to live there.

&lt;br/&gt;Worse place, hmmmm maybe Hackney. I went to London college of fashion few years back, and they ahve a site on Mare St.. hated going there, police was always outside, and I always see a chinese resturant  ,which I ate in now and then on Mare St, on Crimewatch! &lt;/div&gt;

    <title>No Chance Saloon Fundraiser</title>

&lt;br/&gt;On Saturday the 31st of May we will be throwing a kick ass fundraiser for the No Chance Saloon camp for Nowhere 2008 (what's Nowhere? www.goingnowhere.org) at The George, (send me a message if you need the address). 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;It will run from 9pm with some live music in keeping with the theme and descend into a dirty mess of hedonistic excess until the following afternoon in which we plan on showing a Wild West Movie Double Bill (starting around midday). 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The theme is Wild West and dress up is encouraged, though not mandatory. 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;We will be running a bar and there is a suggested donation of £5 on the door. 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;We pledge to spend 80% of the money we make from this fundraiser on the purchasing of booze to be served at the No Chance Saloon. So it’s almost like a 2 for 1 deal, but you just have to get to Nowhere to get the free drink. 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;A little bit of info on our camp – 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;At Nowhere our saloon will incorporate an all day bar serving whiskey and tequila in the cool shade of the saloon structure, a Bucking Bronco to test your Rodeo skills on and a host of Wild West characters to drink with, play with, fight with and in all probability love with. We’ll also host a party on an undetermined night. 
&lt;br/&gt;

&lt;br/&gt;I'm heading to the V&amp;amp;A for it's monthly late-night event. The night is titled Subterreanea and includes readings, a DJ set by St Etienne (but more than likely just Bob Stanley) and a Film screening of Jacques Tati's 'Play Time' (1967), famous for its enormous, specially constructed set depicting a futuristic glass and steel Paris. Preceded by a discussion with photography expert David Campany examining architectural artifice and Tati's fictionalised view of modernist Paris. 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I'll be there at the front at 6pm. Let me know if you're interested.

My company is Infinite Connections and we produce large scale dance parties and specialize in Progressive Psytrance artists and Suspension based performance troupes.  I am also an energy worked, teacher and performance piercer.  Jesse is a rigger, scenic carpenter and metal worker.

&lt;br/&gt;They are mainly a preventative charity which in terms of being a street child can mean the difference between a world of pain and heartache and a life worth living. Railway children endeavour to meet runaway children before pimps, pushers or abusers do.  They are even getting to help the kids in Siberia who are living in the sewers.  
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;80% of their money goes straight to the projects, 17% fundraising, 3% admin etc, so they are a 'fair-enough-trade' charity.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;10p a search is phenomenal and it means that the average amount spent per child -£44- will take 440 searches...its fairly usual for me to search 20 items per evening, so that means in 22 evenings that ground level support for a child is reached. www.railwaychildren-friends.com/email.asp
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;There is a snag with the search page which is that on entering a search it automatically redirects to a normal search page for the results. So inorder that you keep raising money for the charity you have to go back to the root page with the picture of the child and the green bits for each new search subject to raise another all important 10p.

    <title>THE NOTHING / MATRIX HAS YOU</title>

&lt;br/&gt;Life is getting tricky again / worse than usual
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;With no donations, I have to decide whether to 
&lt;br/&gt;cancel the website, or not be able to eat in a 
&lt;br/&gt;week's time when my monthly payment is taken 
&lt;br/&gt;for http://www.worldgathering.net
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;One reason I feel 'World Gathering' may be worth 
&lt;br/&gt;pursuing is because two days after launching 'World 
&lt;br/&gt;Gathering 25/26 August 2007' - on May 1st - the 
&lt;br/&gt;power of the directed energy attack on me doubled.
&lt;br/&gt; 
&lt;br/&gt;This increase in harassment seemed to tell me 
&lt;br/&gt;that there are things 'they' do not want me to do. 
&lt;br/&gt;The truth is, though, whenever I do any large 
&lt;br/&gt;postings on the Internet, the power of the laser, 
&lt;br/&gt;microwave, pulse, sonic, or whatever it is, increases.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;'They' just do not want me to communicate with 
&lt;br/&gt;many other people.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Why are they worrying?
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;So far, hardly anyone seems interested in the 
&lt;br/&gt;World Gathering.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;A few weeks ago quite a large number of people 
&lt;br/&gt;were copying World Gathering posters and banners 
&lt;br/&gt;onto their websites and blogs. But I didn't really 
&lt;br/&gt;receive feedback from anyone, saying it’s a great 
&lt;br/&gt;idea, or promising organisation of a local supporting 
&lt;br/&gt;event for 25/26 August.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I get a spooky feeling.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I was bankrupted in 2004 by four years of targeting, 
&lt;br/&gt;24/7, by severe amounts of directed energy (my eyesight 
&lt;br/&gt;went bad and I could hardly walk on many days). I was 
&lt;br/&gt;therefore made homeless in 2004 and had my full time 
&lt;br/&gt;attention on the Internet diverted.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The spooky feeling I get is that the world seems to 
&lt;br/&gt;have disappeared in the three years I have been pushed 
&lt;br/&gt;off the Net.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;People won't participate.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;People won't encourage other people.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;People won't give donations. 
&lt;br/&gt;(In the past three years, I have received three 
&lt;br/&gt;donations via the Internet ... in that time many 
&lt;br/&gt;millions of people have benefited from the information 
&lt;br/&gt;I left on the Net and duplicated at perhaps 200+ 
&lt;br/&gt;other websites.... not a very good 'energy exchange', 
&lt;br/&gt;is it?)
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;It feels like 'The Nothing' has rendered people useless.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;It looks like people are lost in The Matrix.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I think the massive Chemtrail Spraying has perhaps 
&lt;br/&gt;made most people even more apathetic than they were 
&lt;br/&gt;three years ago.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Perhaps that is why the World Gathering 25/26 August 
&lt;br/&gt;2007 would be important .... to help people waken up 
&lt;br/&gt;again. And to warn the world about the 'Nothing' 
&lt;br/&gt;spraying......
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;As the late Hopi elder Dan Evehema said: 
&lt;br/&gt;We must unite for our SURVIVAL.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;But .................... NO donations so far.

&lt;br/&gt;Who are the Space Hijackers?
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The Space Hijackers are a bunch of misfit troublemakers who have been
&lt;br/&gt;kicking up a storm since 1999. We have held parties for 3000 people
&lt;br/&gt;on the
&lt;br/&gt;London Underground circle line, we have tricked Nike Town into a half
&lt;br/&gt;price sale by printing our own “EVERYTHING INSTORE HALF PRICE TODAY”
&lt;br/&gt;T-shirts and tidying up. We have bought a boat and invaded an island in
&lt;br/&gt;the Docklands in London to host a pirate party and we have smashed the
&lt;br/&gt;Capitalists for six in our midnight Anarchist Vs Capitalist cricket
&lt;br/&gt;tournaments.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;What’s this all about?
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;There comes a time in every activist groups development when they
&lt;br/&gt;realise
&lt;br/&gt;that there is something missing in their set up. We have been
&lt;br/&gt;striving to
&lt;br/&gt;cause trouble, save the world and wind up the powers that be for 8 years
&lt;br/&gt;now. However we still don't own a tank, or indeed any kind of armoured
&lt;br/&gt;personnel carrier.
&lt;br/&gt;Please help us right this wrong.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Why do you need a tank?
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Every two years the ExCeL exhibition centre in East London plays host to
&lt;br/&gt;DSEi, Europe’s largest arms fair. Representatives from all of the major
&lt;br/&gt;arms manufacturers pimp their wares to rogue states, impoverished
&lt;br/&gt;nations
&lt;br/&gt;and invading armies with the full support of the UK government. In fact
&lt;br/&gt;the police firearms squad tried to raid the fair in 2005 only to be
&lt;br/&gt;turned
&lt;br/&gt;back by the government.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;On the last two occasions we have attempted to infiltrate the fair,
&lt;br/&gt;embarrass the dealers and cause a ruckus. In 2003, we caught the
&lt;br/&gt;trains to
&lt;br/&gt;the fair with the arms dealers. Suited up and looking business-like we
&lt;br/&gt;pulled prosthetic limbs (arms) from our cases and attempted to sell them
&lt;br/&gt;to the dealers. In 2005, worried about their obsession with phallic
&lt;br/&gt;objects such as rockets we attempted to sell sex toys to the dealers to
&lt;br/&gt;make up for their lack of “weapons capabilities”. Generally however
&lt;br/&gt;we are
&lt;br/&gt;escorted out by the police.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;This year we have decided to take things up a notch or ten. We want
&lt;br/&gt;to buy
&lt;br/&gt;a tank, we want to drive it into the arms fair! We don’t want to be
&lt;br/&gt;shoved
&lt;br/&gt;around by burly policemen any more. Can’t really say much more at the
&lt;br/&gt;moment, but you get the gist.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;What about after the Arms Fair?
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Assuming they haven’t tested their anti tank missiles on us. We are an
&lt;br/&gt;enterprising group, with mischief simply brimming out of our beer
&lt;br/&gt;fuelled
&lt;br/&gt;brains. We have many many many plans for the tank in the future,
&lt;br/&gt;especially once we have kitted it out with a full sound system (which
&lt;br/&gt;has
&lt;br/&gt;already been donated!)
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;How can I help?

&lt;br/&gt;You can help by lending us one of your tanks if you have any spare.
&lt;br/&gt;You can help by offering us free secure parking for our tank.
&lt;br/&gt;You can help by lending us your mechanic skills to turn our gas guzzler
&lt;br/&gt;into a bio diesel green tank.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Of course the simplest way of helping is by giving us a small amount of
&lt;br/&gt;money towards the tank or by passing this email on to your rich mates
&lt;br/&gt;and
&lt;br/&gt;getting them to donate us a slightly larger amount of money.

    <summary type="html">&lt;div&gt;I am coming to London On June 21 till august 20. I will 
&lt;br/&gt;be attending festivals(doing workshops), deffinatly 
&lt;br/&gt;swing over to Amsterdam and so on during this time and 
&lt;br/&gt;i would love to rent/sublet your place/room/floor space for a part of that 
&lt;br/&gt;time.. 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I have been to London a couple of times before and it 
&lt;br/&gt;is still my most favorite cities in the world. 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;A little bit about me=0) I was born in Latvia during 
&lt;br/&gt;the Soviet regime, immigrated to US at 16. 
&lt;br/&gt;Currently I live in Alameda, California. It is an 
&lt;br/&gt;Island next to 
&lt;br/&gt;Oakland and very close to San Francisco. 
&lt;br/&gt;I am pursuing a Masters in Transpersonal Psychology. 
&lt;br/&gt;I yoga, run, and meditate, most days.=0) I've traveled 
&lt;br/&gt;all around the world in the last ten years, looking for other 
&lt;br/&gt;alternatives to the current social structures. Hoping 
&lt;br/&gt;to find the ones that afford more dignity to the 
&lt;br/&gt;humanity and this beautiful planet. 
&lt;br/&gt;I've been to places like; India for Maha Kumba Mela, 
&lt;br/&gt;Australia for the First International Rainbow Gathering, Oshos 
&lt;br/&gt;community in Puna, Burning Man 8 Times, and so on... 
&lt;br/&gt;I am clean, considerate,honest to the bone, good 
&lt;br/&gt;conversationalist, and easy to get along with, 
&lt;br/&gt;and all I really need is a shower and some floor space.

    <summary type="html">&lt;div&gt;Londeners, I recently got a chance to visit your beautiful city... Even though I never got to meet anyone from this site, I was still amazed at it's beauty and century upon century of building monuments on this most beautiful place in Europe. I grew up reading Peter and Jane, and living with many Brits, and reading books on their homeland...Needless to say I was delightfully impressed and thank you for your genorosity to us Tourists. &lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;- 1/2 Lemon (1 is better)
&lt;br/&gt;- 1 Tablespoon of sugar
&lt;br/&gt;- 4-6 cl of Cachaça Gabriela
&lt;br/&gt;- Ice Cubes
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;How to do it
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Slice the lemon in two or four pieces. Put the sugar in a glass and squeeze together the lemon pieces with a pestle. Then, add Cachaça Gabriela in the glass and stir it to mix. Add the ice and stir again.

&lt;br/&gt;Cachaça Gabriela is my name. Explaining: cachaça is the same of spirit, schnaps, eau de vie. That's a brazilian name for the spirit made from the sugar cane juice. Typical from Brazil.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;But, I'm better than the cachaças I know you already know: I'm organic and artisan made.
&lt;br/&gt;That means that we follow the principles to being totally integrated with the environment. Plants are grown without any kind of chemical products giving the sugar cane full organic status. And the way I am produced is really similar to an art: we have to have patience and wait for my right time to drink: at least one year I rest at brazilian's wood barrels: jequitibá-rosa, amburana, bálsamo, amendoim.

&lt;br/&gt;If you want to head out about an hour and half you have Oxford or Cambridge. Winchester and St Albans are also worth visiting as they're often both overlooked and very, very pretty. I've organised day trips for different groups, so if you're interested in info about places, just ask. 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;St Albans is one of my favourite places near to London and a Roman town to boot. I organised a day-trip to show a group of twenty or so people the city, which also incorporated a pub crawl. The one criteria for the pub crawl was that none of the pubs we went to could be built after the 17th Century. We visited seven or eight as we toured the city. Below was the invite: 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;--------- 
&lt;br/&gt;St Albans is one of the oldest and smallest cities in England and less than 20 minutes from London. It was formerly the Roman city of Verulamium (founded in AD43 and situated on the River Ver), and before that Verlamion, home of the Celtic, Catuvellauni tribe). It was destroyed by Boudicca, the Queen of the Icini (and Courtney Love’s inspiration) in AD61 but then rebuilt (otherwise, there’d be no point in us going). 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Apart from the Roman settlement which includes a hypocaust and the (only?) excavated Roman theatre in Britain (AD 180), one can track St Albans development through its Saxon (in origin) market place, which will be open on the day; its Norman and gothic cathedral; medieval moot (meeting) hall and Tudor coaching inns like the White Hart with lots of other more recent historic buildings. 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;We will try to visit some these sites and also the Verulaneum museum, some local art galleries, the Fleur-de-Lys Inn (where King John of France was detained for a time in 1356 by the Black Prince), and Ye Old Fighting Cock pub (for lunch or dinner: good food and the building is listed by the Guinness Book of World records as the oldest continually licensed pub in Britain). 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;In terms of the literary, St Albans is where the magna carta was drafted; but also where the poet William Cowper spent eighteen months in St. Albans in 1764-65, partly in an institution for the mentally afflicted; and the inspiration for the original house Dickens had in mind when writing his novel, Bleak House. St Albans has also been home to Nicholas Breakspear (the only English pope), Francis Bacon, Stephen Hawkings, and let’s not forget David Essex.

&lt;br/&gt;if your looing fr iconic english country then be in it! i often take a train with bike out of city and cycle to coast... godalming to arundel for example... classic english country... patchwork fields, rolling hills (nothing hard...all very gentle) beautiful villages, thatched cottages, chruches with ancient yew's, flooded woods, heathland, country homes and country lanes, castles even! and then the joy of arriving at the sea! a real prize! then pop on train back to london! fab!

&lt;br/&gt;ive also done this to brighton...alternative, creative "london-on-sea" shopping in the lanes, the pavilion...the piers... best vegi restaurant in the south east:) there is some great bike routes to oxford and along the thames estuary towards suffolk. this is a fantastic way to see the counrty and avoid the tourist hells.

&lt;br/&gt;canterbury is also a nice classic day out!? the new forest, the white cliffs... how do stately homes grab you? gardens?

&lt;br/&gt;at the end of tha day you need to know what you want.. then youll find it.

&lt;br/&gt;litter, why do people drop litter? i caught some kids throwing it out of a car window last week. it was at red lights so i picked it up and knocked on the drivers window. i told him what had happened and he just shrugged his shoulders and said whatever. so i told him to tell his kids its  a disgusting habit and that maybe they should litter their home/car in the same way. i then threw the rubbish on his legs. rude i know but really!

    <title>favorite spot on the river? bridge? view?</title>

    <summary type="html">&lt;div&gt;just joined and as a local  who lives in vauxhall, home of the old pleasure gardens... now more famous for the hq of MI6... its also one of the few places with a beach of sorts, where duck tours come in and out of the river...
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;i love it here because of the view towards parliament/eye one way and battersea power station the other. you can watch the wildlife, look around and find wierd treaures... being the site of lambeth stairs... a long gone pier where pleasure garden revelers would disembark and drop things... silver keys, rings and so on... like you do!
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;its also the site of the remains of a 12,000 yr old bridge that is a little known london secret... 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;i just love this moody river with its swirling brown muds... its so evocative...
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;my favorite bridge is lambeth... just because its small and on my bicycle route into town, my favorite view is from waterloo bridge... the whole city is laid out for you!

&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I have been so inactive on this site so I thought I would reach out. Yes yes, who the heck am I anyway? Well, after being a Tribe.net member for a number of years now and going through some trials and tribulations I am back.
&lt;br/&gt;I am Canadian and have been living in London for the last year. I know few of you. That sucks. Its my fault. I just needed the time to get my life in order and being online was not easy.
&lt;br/&gt;So whats the deal?
&lt;br/&gt;Well, I am throwing a Halloween party and want you to come. Yes, my Tribe friends and those of you who don't know me yet. Why not, right? There are always these get togethers I hear about on here. I figured, I'll just have one at my house. I am leaving this invitation open to you all. I will leave the details here but I hope for the sake of meeting more people and having a good time, you will come. I have so far invited many work friends and friends I have made in the last year including those friends of theirs. Should be a good one.

&lt;br/&gt;The Date: October 28th (Saturday night)
&lt;br/&gt;Time: Sometime after 6pm
&lt;br/&gt;I live in Finsbury Park. Its on the Victoria and Piccadilly tube lines north zone 2.

&lt;br/&gt;It will be a 3 floor one backyard party. You MUST have a costume. It seems my friends have also arranged 2 dj's to come and perform. This detail I will confirm for any of you who really need to know but there will be much music there anyway.

&lt;br/&gt;There's a space for games, you can hire a boat and go out on the Serpentine and there's some cover if there's a shower.

    <title>What's it like to live in London?</title>

    <summary type="html">&lt;div&gt;I've always wanted to spend a few years in Europe. I've traveled a lot but being a tourist you get a very shallow picture of what you're seeing. Beautiful scenery, architecture, postcard stands and a few beat-up legends about this or that don't really tell you much about the people and the culture. 
&lt;br/&gt;When an opportunity at work came up to come to London for a few years I jumped on it right away :) Although it's a bit scary to move again, I think change is always good. 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;One thing I'm a bit afraid of is my addiction to complete and absolute comfort. You get spoiled living in the US you know? Everything is so easy you hardly have to think! The luxury of having a huge apartment, a personal car, a grocery shop accross the street, work right around the corner, less crime, glass doors everywhere that don't get locked, perfect wide highways, gas stations on every intersection, clean public restrooms everywhere you go, customer-oriented economy... 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Not that I can't live without all that - I grew up in St.-Petersburg, Russia and saw the exact opposite of the American style of life. 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;So what's your typical day like? What do you hate the most and love the most about your life in London? How does "the system" work? What are the social boundaries? Who's rich? Who's acting rich? Who's down to earth? Who's desperate? 
&lt;br/&gt;If you have a minute, please give me a high-level overview of what it's like to live in London using your own life as an example.

&lt;br/&gt;'The Cittie of Yorke' was very crowded at our last meet-up on Friday 21st April. Some people came along and didn't find us. The situation was not helped by a barman who told them we'd left! Why?

&lt;br/&gt;Recompression time is upon us as londons first recompression kicks off May 6th.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;SupraCompression is being held at Dust in Shoreditch, east London, starting at 8pm. funds raised will be going towards Nowhere the european regional burn and for Quixotes cabaret bar theme camp coming again from europe to the Buring man.  Decompression 05 was such a great night, down too the fabulous dedication of groovy euro burner rock stars, but also to individuals who came along totally unaware of the burner madness they would face and particpated and revelled in it

&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Some of londons finest DJs downstairs playin breaks till 4 am, and the quixotes crew with their cabaret show upstairs, providing some of the entertainment and the rest provided by you fabulous individuals. performers are welcome of any variety

&lt;br/&gt;Costume as always highly encoraged, playaliscious play wear is muchly needed in East london, so dress as fabulous or as ridculous as you like, 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;  
&lt;br/&gt;Plans are underway to raise some money at Supracompression for the survivors of the Seattle shootings, if you are interested in getting involved with this then drop me a line off thread.

He lived in a place called Huntingdon House (while his flat was being painted) at the time that was quite nice-like a hotel...He was in his early twenties then and had Gaultier cologne in his lavatory...He gave me and my friend "Budgie" some E and we spent the night at his house. In the morning, we americans felt odd and left for our hotel never to see jamie again.  But we had one extremely enjoyable night together and I would LOVE to find him one of these years. He was average height, light browne/dark blonde hair (back then) If you know him....Hook me up with his #, I live in L.A&gt; now--He will proabably barely recall the american blonde he took home with him named Erica....Ask anyone you know...If only I had a last name! &lt;br/&gt;Just how big is the Americana scene or new wave(??) of rockabilly/roots/alt.country/westernia in the UK? Anybody else feeling that there's growing or renewed interest here in spite of a fairly general anti- feeling surrounding US/Iraq/Iran/Afghanistan situation and misgivings about 'cultural imperialism' etc

&lt;br/&gt;Maybe a bit heavy kinda topic on a rainy Sunday morning, but I got to thinking about this while listening to an alt country web radio station while browsing through tribes postings from 'Lefties who like country', catching up on newsletter reading (the fuss about "Brokeback Mountain", especially) and hearing from some Goth friends in Dorset who are also into artists such as Shawn Harvey, Bonnie Prince Billy and The Handsome Family - and Nine Inch Nails (Some cultural crossovers there!) Gothabilly, anyone? Or does that sound too much like an advertising bod's next big idea for a genre that can be manufactured and marketed for our consumption?

&lt;br/&gt;Not entirely silly question: If there is Americana (e.g. stuff mentioned above), is there Canadiana?

&lt;br/&gt;Complaint Letter of the Year. The British do have a way with words.... A real-life customer complaint
&lt;br/&gt;letter sent to NTL (to their complaints dept....)
&lt;br/&gt; 
&lt;br/&gt;Dear Cretins,
&lt;br/&gt;I have been an NTL customer since 9th July 2001, when I signed up for
&lt;br/&gt;your 3-in-one deal for cable TV, cable modem, and telephone. During this
&lt;br/&gt;three-month period I have encountered inadequacy of service which I had not previously considered possible, as well as ignorance and stupidity of monolithic proportions. Please allow me to provide specific details,so that you can either pursue your professional perogative, and seek to rectify these difficulties - or more likely (I suspect) so that you can
&lt;br/&gt;have some entertaining reading material as you while away the working
&lt;br/&gt;day smoking B&amp;amp;H and drinking vendor-coffee on the bog in your office:
&lt;br/&gt;My initial installation was cancelled without warning, resulting in my
&lt;br/&gt;spending an entire Saturday sitting on my fat arse waiting for your
&lt;br/&gt;technician to arrive. When he did not arrive, I spent a further 57
&lt;br/&gt;minutes listening to your infuriating hold music, and the even more
&lt;br/&gt;annoying Scottish robot woman telling me to look at your helpful
&lt;br/&gt;website....HOW? I alleviated the boredom by playing with my testicles for a few minutes
&lt;br/&gt;- an activity at which you are no-doubt both familiar and highly adept.
&lt;br/&gt;The rescheduled installation then took place some two weeks later,
&lt;br/&gt;although the technician did forget to bring a number of vital tools -
&lt;br/&gt;such as a drill-bit, and his cerebrum. Two weeks later, my cable modem
&lt;br/&gt;had still not arrived. After 15 telephone calls over 4 weeks my modem
&lt;br/&gt;arrived... six weeks after I had requested it, and begun to pay for it.
&lt;br/&gt; 
&lt;br/&gt;I estimate your internet server's downtime is roughly 35%... hours
&lt;br/&gt;between about 6pm -midnight, Mon-Fri, and most of the weekend. I am
&lt;br/&gt;still waiting for my telephone connection. I have made 9 calls on my
&lt;br/&gt;mobile to your no-help line, and have been unhelpfully transferred to a
&lt;br/&gt;variety of disinterested individuals, who are it seems also highly
&lt;br/&gt;skilled bollock jugglers.
&lt;br/&gt;I have been informed that a telephone line is available (and someone
&lt;br/&gt;will call me back); that no telephone line is available (and someone
&lt;br/&gt;will call me back); that I will be transferred to someone who knows
&lt;br/&gt;whether or not a telephone line is available (and then been cut off);
&lt;br/&gt;that I will be transferred to someone (and then been redirected to an
&lt;br/&gt;answer machine informing me that your office is closed); that I will be
&lt;br/&gt;transferred to someone and then been redirected to the irritating
&lt;br/&gt;Scottish robot woman...and several other variations on this theme.
&lt;br/&gt;Doubtless you are no longer reading this letter, as you have at least a
&lt;br/&gt;thousand other dissatisfied customers to ignore, and also another one of
&lt;br/&gt;those crucially important testicle-moments to attend to. Frankly I don't
&lt;br/&gt;care, it's far more satisfying as a customer to voice my frustration's
&lt;br/&gt;in print than to shout them at your unending hold music. Forgive me,
&lt;br/&gt;therefore, if I continue.
&lt;br/&gt;I thought BT were shit, that they had attained the holy piss-pot of godawful customer relations, that no-one, anywhere, ever, could be more
&lt;br/&gt;disinterested, less helpful or more obstructive to delivering service to
&lt;br/&gt;their customers. That's why I chose NTL, and because, well, there isn't
&lt;br/&gt;anyone else is there? How surprised I therefore was, when I discovered
&lt;br/&gt;to my considerable dissatisfaction and disappointment what a useless
&lt;br/&gt;shower of bastards you truly are. You are sputum-filled pieces of
&lt;br/&gt;distended rectum incompetents of the highest order.
&lt;br/&gt;British Telecom - wankers though they are - shine like brilliant beacons
&lt;br/&gt;of success, in the filthy puss-filled mire of your seemingly limitless
&lt;br/&gt;inadequacy. Suffice to say that I have now given up on my futile and
&lt;br/&gt;foolhardy quest to receive any kind of service from you. I suggest that
&lt;br/&gt;you cease any potential future attempts to extort payment from me for
&lt;br/&gt;the services which you have so pointedly and catastrophically failed to
&lt;br/&gt;deliver - any such activity will be greeted initially with hilarity and
&lt;br/&gt;disbelief quickly be replaced by derision, and even perhaps bemused
&lt;br/&gt;rage. I enclose two small deposits, selected with great care from my
&lt;br/&gt;cats litter tray, as an _expression of my utter and complete contempt for
&lt;br/&gt;both you and your pointless company. I sincerely hope that they have not
&lt;br/&gt;become desiccated during transit - they were satisfyingly moist at the
&lt;br/&gt;time of posting, and I would feel considerable disappointment if you did
&lt;br/&gt;not experience both their rich aroma and delicate texture. Consider them
&lt;br/&gt;the very embodiment of my feelings towards NTL, and its worthless
&lt;br/&gt;employees.
&lt;br/&gt;Have a nice day - may it be the last in you miserable short life, you
&lt;br/&gt;irritatingly incompetent and infuriatingly unhelpful bunch of twats.

Mick Talbot is opening and playing all the songs he wrote himself while in The Style Council!  So, that's like 4 or 5 songs and they all have "Mick" in the title.   I love that Paul Weller would throw Mick a bone once in a while.&lt;/div&gt;
